We'll start with a nonsectarian ceremony, then move to the hotel for the reception. Dress code will be black tie optional.
Accommodations

Stay and celebrate with us all weekend long. If you have RSVP’d with us and sent us your hard earned money then we will have a bed with your name on it! We booked two villas that are on the same property and guests will be free to move between the two but will have assigned rooms.

The Bride

You know her, you admire her — and you definitely don’t try to argue with her. Susan is honest to a fault, delightfully bossy, and fully in charge… until Phil gently reminds her she’s not always right (which she pretends to accept). She’s the proud mom of a pit bull mix with big feelings, a hopeful but consistently humbled gardener, and a baker whose kitchen smells like love — and maybe a little bit of cinnamon. She lives with heart, humor, and a fierce loyalty to those she loves. And when she met Phil, she didn’t just find someone who could handle her — she found someone who made her feel seen, steady, and completely at home. Theirs isn’t a fairy tale. It’s something better: real, enduring, and full of good food, dog hair, and a whole lot of love.
The Groom

You know him, you love him — you know you can count on him. He laughs at your jokes, even when they’re mostly just observations. He rarely responds to texts on time, but if your world were falling apart, he’d be there with a calm voice and a multitool. Phil has loved many things: long bike rides to nowhere in particular, playing guitar for an audience of one, and completing house projects to at least 80%. But nothing compares to how he loves Susan. He moved across the country for her, took in a stray dog with a questionable attitude, cooks dinner most nights, and yes — even makes her oil change appointments without needing a gold star. It was love at first sight when he saw her dressed as Minnie Mouse on Halloween 2013 - and the rest is history.
The Dog
Olive, Brungy, Broofus, Boof dog, Ding-Dong
You know her, you’ve probably been jumped on by her — Olive Boehl-Beard is the couple’s beloved pit bull mix and the quiet heart of their home. A former stray turned professional cuddle-seeker, Olive leans into anyone who will pet her and is only motivated by high-reward treats (read: bacon or better). She’s timid, gentle, and so quiet she barks about once a month — and even then, she apologizes with her eyes. Her crowning glory came in 2019, when she earned a coveted participation trophy at the Silver Lake dog park Halloween costume contest — an achievement she carries with pride and absolutely no irony. Though she won’t be in Italy on the big day, Olive will be there in spirit — likely curled up in a sunbeam, dreaming not just of bacon, but of her whole pack being together again soon.
